Painting has always been my passion. I won a scholarship before leaving school which entitled me to enter the National Art School and during the semester breaks I was able to work in a commercial art studio in Sydney. I was able to combine the two for the next 6 years enjoying both so much that when family arrived I was able to do freelance art work and continue studies at Gymea Tech. It was during this time that I began entering competitions and, spurred on by success, I began to teach myself pastel. With this medium alone, I have now won over 130 1st prizes, and have been made a Master Pastellist by the Pastel Society of Australia.

The immediacy and brilliance of pastel often make it the favourite medium I must admit, and it has become the one I am asked to demonstrate and teach. These classes take me interstate and beyond from time to time and have always been an enjoyable way to see the world and meet some wonderful people! I am currently a member of Castle Hill, Shoalhaven, Ryde and a life member of Parramatta, and a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of N.S.W.

The Combined Art Societies of Sydney have awarded me Artist of the Year 8 times.
